Pinewood Group today announced that the collaboration with Lantica Media and Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios comes to a close by mutual agreement effective 31 March 2024. Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios will be known as Lantica Studios going forward. Pinewood entered into a consultancy, brand and marketing services agreement in 2010 with the studio facilities opening in 2014. With the initial objectives of the collaboration achieved – including the development of the Studios – both parties will now focus on the next phase of their respective businesses. In the time since opening, the Studios have played host to major productions including, The Lost City (Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliff) and Nyad (Jodie Foster, Annette Bening), and current work includes high octane series MGM+ Hotel Cocaine (Yul Vazquez, Danny Pino and Michael Chiklis) and Arven Chen’s Coolie.

The update will have no impact on productions shooting at the Studios, which will continue to be led by Chief Executive Officer, Albert Martinez Martin – who has been spearheading the studio business and operations for the past seven years with his team. Following the trading name change the Studios will operate business as usual.

Paul Golding, Chairman of Pinewood Group, said:
“We’ve enjoyed a positive and productive 13-year collaboration with Lantica Media. The combination of a strong, local, customer-focused management team and a great facility makes the studio a fantastic place to base productions."

Albert Martinez Martin, CEO of Lantica Media, said:
“Pinewood Group has been a fantastic partner in phase one of the Studios, as we built up a world-class offering in the Dominican Republic and got the country on the map for large-scale productions looking for state of the art facilities. We are now excited to enter into a new phase of the Studios operating wholly under the Lantica brand – and look forward to welcoming both new and returning clients to the space to create on-screen magic.”
